Reetta Humalajoki

Reetta Humalajoki is an Academy Research Fellow at the University of Turku’s School of History, Culture and Arts Studies and the project PI. She is a researcher of North American, Indigenous, and settler colonial histories. In addition to leading the project, she will explore the appropriation of Native North American cultures at varying points throughout the 1900s.

Pirita Näkkäläjärvi

Pirita Näkkäläjärvi is working on a doctoral dissertation at the Sibelius Academy on the topic of Sámi joik and cultural appropriation. In this project, she examines the use of Sámi joik in Finnish music. She is the President of the Sámi Parliament for the term 2024–27.
