Research Group
The research group is based at the Faculty of Law at the University of Turku and represents critical, interdisciplinary socio-legal research that combines empirical studies of legislative drafting and regulation, environmental and natural resources law, as well as computational methods in the analysis of power, responsibility, and legal practices concerning the environment.

Hanna Malik
Leads the project and brings extensive experience of harms arising at the intersection of the state, corporations, and technology, as well as expertise in critical socio-legal research methods.

Works as a doctoral researcher specializing in forest governance and legislative drafting, and supports the project’s computational analysis using NLP methods.

Works as a postdoctoral researcher and contributes to case studies as well as regulatory analysis of Finnish environmental and natural resources law.

Participates in the project as a postdoctoral researcher, applying an analytical method that deconstructs the binary structures of law, as well as posthumanist theory, to examine the legal frameworks shaping forests.
