Project presentation at Dies Medievales (13 March, 2026)

Members of CULTCTRL presented the project at Dies Medievales, the national conference for Finnish medievalists, in Jyväskylä. The conference was organised by Glossa – the Society for Medieval Studies in Finland and the University of Jyväskylä.

Topics of the presentations were:

Sari Katajala-Peltomaa: Studying and comparing lived religion in medieval canonization and inquisition processes
Saku Pihko: Traces of lived religion in medieval inquisition records
Jenni Kuuliala: Rituals, experts, and emotional practices in medieval canonization processes
Reima Välimäki: Possibilities of structured data for the study of lived religion

The panel was chaired by Sara Ellis-Nilsson (Linnaeus University). We thank her, the organisers, and participants of the panel for the fruitful discussions and inspiring time with colleagues!
