DWELL pilot study
The DWELL pilot study is currently ongoing and is part of a larger study funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
In the pilot study, we investigate friendships, how students talk to each other about their problems, the different ways they support each other, and how this affects their well-being. These questions are important because while talking to friends can help some students feel better, it can also make others feel worse – for example, if they tend to dwell on their problems.
The purpose of the pilot study is to validate a new way to assess co-rumination, i.e., dwelling on problems with a friend, and to examine which ways of seeking social support are most beneficial.
