Hi-GEE researcher Anna Elkina visits LSE in 2026
During 2026, Hi-GEE project researcher Anna Elkina is working as a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK. The visit takes place at the invitation of Associate Professor Lucia García-Lorenzo at the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science.
Anna’s research at LSE is closely connected to the ongoing work within the Hi-GEE project. During her stay, she focuses on understanding the early experiences of transnational migrants who start entrepreneurial activities soon after moving to a new country. Drawing on liminality and identity theory, Anna explores how migrants make sense of their changing positions and identities in a new social and economic environment.
As part of the visit, Anna is collecting interview and ethnographic data. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of entrepreneuring as a relational and creative process The study pays particular attention to how migrants navigate both structural and emotional challenges while building their paths forward.
The research visit has been made possible thanks to funding from the Finnish Cultural Foundation. Anna received the grant through the Foundation’s Post Doc Pool programme last year, which supports international mobility for early-career researchers.
