New postdocs joining the Human Diversity team – Meet Sonja Koski
Sonja: I’m a senior researcher at Helsinki and Turku Universities. I hold a Title of Docent in biological anthropology, and most of my career I have studied the behaviour and cognition of non-human primates. Currently, I divide my time between leading research teams assessing human-animal interactions in equestrian contexts (https://horseinteractionproject.wordpress.com) and human perception of animal emotions (https://www.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/emotion-science). In addition, I recently joined the Human Diversity research team as a senior special researcher to address one of the hottest topics in human evolution: the self-domestication hypothesis. Specifically, the study aims to target the genetic underpinnings of human aggression in past and present. Prior to returning to Finland, I worked at Leiden, Utrecht, Cambridge, and Zurich Universities.
Welcome to the Human Diversity team, Sonja!
