Miriam Tedeschi is JuDiCe’s Principal Investigator (PI). She is a researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Turku. She is also docent in human geography, with specialisation in non-representational theories, at the Department of Geography and Geology, University of Turku. Her research focuses on the multiple relationships between humans and the different spatio-techno-legal configurations they embody. More info about the PI can be found on UTU website.
JuDiCe puts together and harmonises different competences: human and urban geography, law, and computer science. To do so, it has established active cooperation both internationally and nationally with:

• The Westminster Law and Theory Lab, University of Westminster, London, UK:
  • Prof. Andreas Philippopoulos-Mihalopoulos is an internationally renown scholar who has successfully combined environmental law, human geography, and urban studies in the development of a new definition of spatial justice, including its recent ramifications into the datafied urban environment.
• School of Information Technology, Department of ISDD (Intelligent Systems and Digital Design), Halmstad University, Sweden:
  • Prof. Andrea Resmini is associate professor of experience design and information architecture at Halmstad University, Sweden, and a world-leading scholar in pervasive information architecture, i.e. an information-based framework for the analysis and design of physical/digital experiences.
• IDA – Intimacy in a data-driven culture project, Faculty of Law, University of Turku, Finland:
  • IDA project studies the impact of data on social roles and relations, also bringing to light the vulnerabilities that such impact generates. Prof. Anne Alvesalo-Kuusi is one of the leading figures of project IDA at the Faculty.
• JUSTSPACE research group, within the project STUE (STUE – Sustainable Transformation of Urban Environments (PROFI6)) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, of Tampere University, Finland:
  • Prof. Päivi Kymäläinen is a leading scholar in the field of spatial justice. In particular, she studies the relationships between justice, society, and space in their various facets. The blending between the spatial and legal dimensions is among her expertises.
• School of Management, Regional Studies, University of Vaasa, Finland:
  • Ass. Prof. (tenure track) Johanna Hautala is a leading scholar in geography of knowledge creation. This also includes knowledge co-creation processes between humans, robots and artificial intelligence, and knowledge on how humans and technologies interact with and impact on each other.
• GenZ (PROFI4), “Strengthening human capabilities in the digital era” project, within the research area focus of Digitalisation and smart society, University of Oulu, Finland:
  • GenZ (Profi4) project aims to respond to the challenges that new technologies have on human lives in the 21st century. Specifically, GenZ’s research theme ‘co-evolution’ focuses on how new digital technologies are entangled with everyday human life. Prof. Pentti Haddington is the director of the GenZ project.

Finally, collaboration is active with the Department of Geography and Geology, Geography section, of the University of Turku.
