Join us on Wednesday, 9th September, 14:15-16:00 for an online seminar<\/strong>: \u201cChallenging anthropocentric approaches to wellbeing: planetary, more-than-human and Indigenous perspectives\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does wellbeing mean? And whose wellbeing matters in the times of global environmental crises, oppression of Indigenous societies, instrumentalization of nonhuman animals and biodiversity loss? In what ways do we need to challenge dominant narratives and practices of wellbeing of the Global North? How can research, especially critical, interdisciplinary, participatory and emancipatory approaches help us in this task?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by the online seminar series Current Intersections of Culture, Language and Wellbeing, this seminar raises questions and invites exchanges across the humanities and social sciences. With interventions by three invited panelists, Dr Lena Gross (Norwegian Institute of Cultural Heritage Research, link: https:\/\/www.niku.no\/en\/ansatt\/lena-gross\/<\/a>), Dr Helin\u00e4 \u00c4\u00e4ri (University of Oulu, link: https:\/\/blogs.helsinki.fi\/respro-hanke\/tutkimustiimi\/<\/a> and also https:\/\/www.utu.fi\/fi\/ihmiset\/helina-aari<\/a>) and Dr Sanna Karkulehto (University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, link: Sanna Karkulehto | University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4), these conversations bring culture, language and wellbeing into dialogue with our times of polycrisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
