Welcome to the Nordic Summer School on Computational Microbiome Research
The summer school will take place on 13-15 August 2024
in Turku, Finland
We are excited to announce a new annual training and networking event for microbiome researchers from nordic countries and beyond. This year’s program includes the latest trends and methods in metagenomic assembly, data integration and antibiotic resistance mapping, and industry perspectives. The programme also includes participant talks and posters, networking and other social bits.
The programme consists of lectures and discussion (not hands-on exercises). We expect participants to have a basic proficiency in microbiome data analysis. In other words, this is not a tutorial course for beginners but rather intermediate/advanced training for researchers and trainees with at least some prior experience in computational microbiome research.
Tentative highlights from the program
- Strain-resolved metagenomics
- AI and neural network applications in microbiome research
- Multi’omics data integration (e.g. metagenomics, metabolomics)
- Multikingom interactions (bacteria, bacteriophage, fungi)
- Antibiotic resistance mapping
