Quality of Foot Health Care

Purpose

to improve foot health in all age groups by developing instruments for evaluating foot health and interventions to support foot self-care and nurses’ competence in foot care. Ultimately the aim is to promote functional health and well-being in every age group.

Goals

  • to create and develop the theoretical basis of foot health
  • to develop instruments to evaluate foot health, foot self-care and foot care knowledge
  • to develop interventions for patients and nurses to improve foot health
  • to improve the quality of foot care in clinical nursing practice

A) Foot health in all age group (2007-)
Aim: to analyze foot health in all age group and promote their functional health and wellbeing

A1) Nurses’ wellbeing and foot health (2014-)
Aim: to analyze nurses’ foot health and develop interventions to promote foot health and work wellbeing

A2) Foot health in patients with long-term health problems (2018-) Aim: to analyze foot health in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (cross-cultural European study)

B) Competence in foot health care (2007-)
Aim: to investigate patients’ and health care professionals’ competence in foot health care
