AIM
The main goal of this study is to evaluate the impact of the Finnish eDASA APP (electronic DASA + aggression prevention protocol) on the prevention of workplace violence. eDASA APP FI will be integrated into the Apotti patient data management system.
CONTENT
- Nurses and nurse managers attitudes towards violence risk assessment and management – a survey study
- Modifying eDASA APP, developed in Australia by Dr Tessa Maguire, Professor Michael Daffern et al., to Finnish context and integrating it in Apotti system
- Develop a short online training for eDASA APP FI
- Piloting eDASA APP FI
- Evaluate the impact of eDASA APP FI on prevention of workplace violence (primary outcome), decreasing use of coercive measures, and increasing nurses’ well-being at work
- Describe the implementation process of eDASA APP FI and how the process affected on use of patient data management system and nursing records.
IMPLICATIONS
- This study will inform if the Finnish version of eDASA APP has an impact on important outcomes in psychiatric inpatient care: workplace violence, use of coercion, and nurses well-being at work.
- Insight on more effective use of patient data management system, aiding nurses’ daily work.
