How can the University facilitate Open Science Practices?

One of the goals of our Open Science Community is to jointly think on how the University or INVEST may further assist us to implement Open Science Practices. This may include thinking along in policies (how should researchers’ work be evaluated?), services (assistance with Open Access), and training.

Promotion of open science and research is a joint effort by the entire research community. The national level promotion is done with four expert panels and their working groups. Specialists from the University of Turku work actively in all four expert panels and their working groups. We, as members of the Open Science Community of Turku, can also think along in what we need to further cultivate the engagement with Open Science at our University. On May 30 (12.00 o’clock), we will organize a brownbag session to jointly discuss the current services at the University of Turku and INVEST that facilitate Open Science Practices and we will have a discussion about what we need as researchers to more fully embrace Open Science.
