Annual Finnish Sociology Conference in Rovaniemi

The annual Finnish Sociology Conference were held this year in Rovaniemi under the theme Community Futures.
Our project participated in the Sociology of War, National Defence, and Security working group, where Elli presented our preliminary findings on young people’s perceived security and their future outlooks in the context of intersecting crises, particularly in relation to wars and conflicts. The two-day working group featured a wide range of engaging presentations, which explored, among other themes, the role of affects and communities in responding to security threats.
In addition, Johanna presented the Sociology Journal article award today.
The photo shows sociologists from the University of Turku. We left with much to reflect on, shared by fellow sociologists from across Finland, it was a pleasure to take part in the discussions.
