Smart Port City project

Welcome to the Smart Port City (SPoC) project website!

We are a group of researchers passionate about cities and ports, and the opportunities that digitalisation bring to support spatial transformations, such as the future development of Linnanniemi in the current harbour area as well as surrounding area of Turku Castle (read more about the Linnanniemi transformation).

Here we will post about our ongoing project activities and progress. We invite members of stakeholder groups, including city inhabitants to actively contribute with their ideas, views and comments to the research by participating in our workshops which will be organised next year. The Project is funded by the Turku Urban Research Programme 2022-2025 for the time period 01.01.2023-31.12.2024.
