I am a university lecturer of ecology at the department of biology, university of Turku, where I have focused on population ecology and dynamics of herbivorous mammals, insects and other arthropods. Currently, I study biology of the hard ticks (Ixodes ricinus and I. persulcatus) and tick-borne pathogens in Finland.
My research interests include:
- Dynamics and regulation of animal populations
- Methodological issues in tick ecology
- Citizen science in tick biology
