Past Events

Conference on Technology Ethics conference series, organised by the Future Ethics research group of the University of Turku, promotes technology ethics research and networking. The Future Ethics research group focuses on ethics of future technologies with special attention to information technologies. Current research interests include, e.g., governmental ICT, ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI ethics), data economy ecosystems, eHealth, gamification, juridical ICT, inclusive information systems and classical ethics in relation to ethics of technology.

Conference on Technology Ethics 2023 – Tethics 2023 – will be the sixth event of the series. Initially the events were called Seminar on Technology Ethics and the language was Finnish. In 2019, presentations were chosen based on blind review and articles were composed to a proceeding. To expand the discussion to international research communities, language was changed into English. Due to positive feedback, the name was changed to Conference on Technology Ethics in 2020.
