Science belongs to everyone! -project
“Science belongs to everyone!” -project will establish a university-wide citizen science panel at the University of Turku to strengthen the citizen perspective in all research activities.
Through the panel, researchers have the opportunity to hear directly from citizens, which can add value to research processes. Promoting citizen science could mean encouraging the active involvement of citizens in scientific research and fostering a collaborative relationship between researchers and the public.
Initiated by the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Turku, the project includes representation from all faculties of the university. Collaboration with the City of Turku, the Well-being Services County of Southwest Finland and Citizen Science Support and Services WG of Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) expands perspectives.
Project was launched in autumn 2024 and is funded by University of Turku donations until the end of year 2026.
