Digitalization of manufacturing via safe utilization of laser processing

VADILA in brief

The main objective of VADILA is to bring laser processing to machine manufacturing, shipbuilding, and e-mobility manufacturing such that the potential of technology is known from an environmental point of view as well as an economic one. The potential of technology is analysed e.g. by life cycle analysis.
The sub-objectives are  the following:
1. To form a holistic view of the know-how of laser material processing in Varsinais-Suomi and on the knowledge holes.
2. To organize a series of workshops and sprints for the industry to identify new applications and enable quick testing.
3. To test company-based generic topics in a laboratory environment to test the idea’s functionality.
4. To clarify the potential and restrictions of manual laser welding in manufacturing industries.
5. To organize workshops on laser safety. The digital revolution is present in shipping and e-mobility, but the effects are intensifying along with growing demands. Modern order-supply chains make efficient use of new technologies, e.g. minimizing environmental impact.
