Marco Bucci

During the PhD started in 2006, I become more and more familiar with the PET (Positron Emission Tomography) methodology. During the co-ordination of the EU funded DORIAN project on developmental origins of healthy and unhealthy ageing, I coordinated 8 researchers in the data acquisition and data analysis of several sub-projects and performed the data analysis of the whole body and brain data (PET-FDG, VBM, DTI).

In 2017, I joined Lauri Nummenmaa’s Lab (Human Emotion Systems Laboratory), in which, both brain’s metabolism and structure with PET and MRI are measured. During the years I have also supervised and tutored some students at the Lab as part of my tasks of Post-Doc, especially for the use of the pipeline for the brain PET image analysis.

In 2020, I have joined the Nordberg Translational Molecular Imaging Lab at the Karolinska Institute, where, under the supervision of Prof. Agneta Nordberg, I have strengthened my knowledge on the neurodegenerative disease, with special interest in AD continuum and the use of fluid and imaging biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis. Since then, I have been working with Amyloid and Tau PET but also Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and plasma biomarkers in large research and memory clinic cohorts.
