About Us
Our research group specializes in advanced brain medical imaging—particularly PET and MRI—combined with state‑of‑the‑art Machine Learning methods to enable the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases. Our primary focus is on dementias, with a special emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease.
We have deep expertise in the analysis and quantification of PET‑FDG images, employing both semi‑quantitative and fully quantitative techniques to derive robust biomarkers of brain metabolism.
A central component of our work is the development and validation of predictive models that integrate data across source types (imaging and non-imaging) in multiple cohorts. To achieve this, we design and evaluate harmonization strategies that address variability in imaging protocols, scanners, and population characteristics, ensuring models that generalize reliably across diverse datasets.
Our overarching goal is to build clinically meaningful tools that support earlier diagnosis, improve disease characterization, and ultimately contribute to better patient outcomes.
