CIDS Event 12 Sept 2023 Helsinki (Haaga Helia Pasila) at 11.30 am

Welcome to the CIDS Event 2023: DAOs – new organizations on Web3 (Event & Afterparty)

NOTE change in starting time (now 11.30 am!)

With Web3 Summit Helsinki bringing together a mix of academics, industry, government, and students interested in Web3

Web3 Helsinki and CIDS, a DAO-focused University of Turku research group, are hosting a 2nd Web3 Summit in Helsinki, Finland, on September 12th.

Wondering how Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO’s) might change our society?

Critical Inquiry into DAO’s for Sustainability (CIDS) is a University of Turku multidisciplinary research project funded by the Academy of Finland to investigate the broad phenomenon of DAO’s within the Web3 ecosystem. Web3 Summit Helsinki brings together experts, innovators, and thought leaders in the decentralized technology and blockchain space to discuss the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities.

What do these ‘scary’ and ‘confusing’ organizations do, how do they operate, and do (or can) they add value?

Working with student entrepreneur societies from Helsinki schools including Laurea, Hanken, and Haaga-Helia, our event will bring together representatives from the Finnish Web3 industry, academia, and government in addition to international experts and students with the aim of serving as a national forum to ‘connect nodes’ and discuss the latest developments, questions, and opportunities related to the DAO ecosystem.

If you want to join in the conversation — with your ideas, experiences, questions, or merely to listen in, you are most welcome to join us!

Schedule & Speakers: see eventbrite

For questions (including presentation slots) contact elias.s.ahonen[at]utu.fi

Do these new digital beings act like virtual states, global cooperatives or non-governmental organizations? Can they function as public goods to provide for equal banking, environmental renewal, or refugee assistance? Might they contribute grassroots organization and funding to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)?

Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
Stay tuned for a potential Afterparty (to be announced).

Attendance is FREE, but we ask that you reserve a spot on Eventbrite so that we can prepare accordingly.
