About the Project
CoWest a) strengthens register-based research of integrated social, healthcare and education services, b) produces evidence on how service systems promote the health and wellbeing of children, youth and families with children, c) promotes transdisciplinary research-practice co-creation for knowledge management and practical work.
The project provides a framework for register-based research by combining national register data with regionally extracted data from social services, primary healthcare, and education services. The project supports regional data-driven management by contributing to the development of indicators related to service provision and effectiveness. The regional data infrastructure developed through the project will enable longitudinal research beyond the scope of the project itself.
CoWest is a joint project of the University of Turku’s INVEST Research Flagship Centre and the Unit of Social Work, the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland, and the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.
Project is funded by Research Council of Finland.
