Intersectional Inclusion in Deliberation and Participation with Youth (SINCRONY)

The Intersectional Inclusion in Deliberation and Participation with Youth (SINCRONY) project examines the participation and empowerment of young people. It pays particular attention to young people who are vulnerable and marginalized in various ways. From 2024 to 2027, the project is funded by the European Commission. In addition to the universities of Bologna, Porto, Aalborg, Turku, Geneva, Innsbruck and Manchester, the Association Européenne pour la Démocratie Locale and WEDO Project Intelligence Made Easy SL are involved in the project.

The University of Turku sub-project develops evaluation criteria for civic participation and discussion forms. The subproject also carried out a youth citizen jury and a survey in cooperation with the city of Kuhmo in 2025.
