First Innovation Camp on Building Data Ecosystems
The Dining Flow project has committed to organizing two Innovation Camps to strengthen collaboration between students, researchers, and industry partners. Each camp is designed to foster a culture of innovation by generating creative, user-centered solutions through hands-on collaboration.
The first camp was recently led by Professor Peter Zettinig and Minna Storm. It brought together students from the Faculty of Technology and the Business School, who were tasked with developing business models for data ecosystems in buildings with Self-Service Restaurants (SSRs). Over the course of one week, the students worked intensively to design practical solutions that contribute to the Dining Flow project.
The camp began with a kick-off workshop at Paimio Sanatorium, where our key industry partners—KONE, JAMIX, SmartKitchen, Safera, METOS, and Sodexo—shared their insights. These perspectives guided the student teams throughout the process, culminating in final presentations where they showcased their proposed outcomes and solutions.
