Call for Abstracts
Dynamis invites the submission of papers to be presented at its annual seminar to be held from May 15th to May 17th at the University of Turku.
Dynamis is a Finnish network for metaphysical research. The main activity of Dynamis is an annual seminar aimed at bringing together metaphysics researchers in Finland. The confirmed keynote speaker for the seminar is John Heil from Washington University in St. Louis. Dynamis understands metaphysics broadly, encompassing also historical approaches and the application of theoretical resources of metaphysics to other areas of philosophy (mind, language, science, social philosophy and more besides), and welcomes submissions from a range of philosophical traditions. We welcome submissions from master’s students, doctoral students, and those at later career stages working on metaphysics in Finland.
If you would like to present at the 2024 Dynamis Seminar, please send an abstract in English, ranging from 250 to 400 words, to dynamis.turku@gmail.com no later than Friday March 1st. We will inform all applicants about the acceptance of their talks by Friday, March 15th. We plan for 30- or 45-minute sessions per speaker (including discussion), depending on the number of presentations. The language of the seminar is English. Further information will be made available in due course at https://www.utu.fi/dynamis2024.
Unfortunately, Dynamis currently lacks funding, so we are not able to offer any financial support for travel and/or accommodation. The University of Turku will provide the venue and coffee.
