Anniina Kaittila serves as the director of the EBUSE project. Her research focuses particularly on intimate partner violence, financial social work, child welfare, and the effectiveness of social services.

Jarno Tuominen, Docent of psychology
Jarno Tuominen is the co-PI of the EBUSE project and a University Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Turku. In addition to his academic and clinical work, he has also served as a consulting professional for various organizations, e.g. World Health Organization.

Marita Husso, Sub‑project Leader, Tampere University.
Marita Husso is professor of social policy at Tampere University. Her research focuses on violence studies, welfare services, digitalization, vulnerability, affect, and gendered agency. Her recent publications examine technology-facilitated gender-based violence and connection between harmful ideological, institutional, and affective practices of violence.

Sisko Piippo, Sub‑project Leader, University of Eastern Finland.
Sisko Piippo, PhD (Social Sciences), is a University Lecturer. In her doctoral dissertation, she examined encounters with intimate partner violence in social work. She has conducted extensive research on the use of services by people in vulnerable life situations, recently focusing on technology-facilitated violence and how it is addressed within service systems.

Annamari Kangas-Kalinen, M.Soc.Sc., is a doctoral researcher at the University of Turku and a licensed social worker. In her doctoral dissertation, she examines how social service professionals encounter technology-facilitated violence in their work. She has also worked in several research projects connected to social work practices.

Mari Karvinen, M.Soc.Sc, is a doctoral researcher at the University of Turku. Her research focuses on intimate partner violence against men, the significance of masculinity in experiences of violence, and men’s help-seeking.

Hanna Mielismäki, M.Soc.Sc., is a doctoral researcher in social policy at Tampere University. Her work examines responsible and human‑centred uses of AI in welfare services, with a particular focus on conversational AI and the support needs of vulnerable populations.

Agnieszka Repo, MSocSc, is a doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Finland. In her dissertation, she examines social workers’ professional practices in high-conflict separation cases. She has experience in social work development and research projects, particularly in the areas of financial social work and high‑conflict separations.

Sonja Tihveräinen, M.Soc.Sc., is a doctoral researcher at the Tampere University and a licensed social worker. In her PhD, she examines the dimensions of technology-facilitated violence and coercive control in intimate relationships, with a particular focus on the challenges associated with intervention in such cases.
