Northern human-animal relations, squirrelled

The Ratatoskr research network, based at the University of Södertörn, Sweden, cartographies the northern human-animal relations in a new collection of essays Squirrelling: Human–Animal Studies in the Northern-European Region (2022). ‘North’ in the book, the introduction explains, is not a political or linguistic concept but rather refers to the rootedness in material places of both the phenomena scrutinized in the book, as well as the authors participating. Karoliina Lummaa and Elsi Hyttinen from Figuring Nature contribute to the book, and the whole open access collection can be downloaded here.
