Hope-D

Gestational and postpartum weight management

Weight management aims at well-being

Pregnancy is a significant period that affects the well-being and future health of both the mother and the fetus. Early pregnancy weight, lifestyle habits, and gestational weight gain can help reduce complications related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the newborn. Expectant mothers receive support from healthcare professionals. The evidence-based Hope-D method has been developed to support expectant mothers, where a digital care pathway and a weight management care plan are central components. The Hope-D study investigates motivation for weight management, lifestyle changes, and their impact on the course of pregnancy and childbirth as well as on the newborn’s health.

We are seeking participants to use the Hope-D method’s digital care pathway and to learn about other components of the method. Participants will receive access to the digital care pathway, and after one week of use, they will be asked questions in an interview regarding the usability and content of the digital care pathway.

The participant is presented during the interview session with other parts of the Hope-D method and questions from each part. Finally, they answer the SUS questionnaire in writing, which measures the usability of the digital care pathway. You can register to participate in the study at any stage of pregnancy. Hope-D language is Finnish. Other languages will come later.

We will start intervention study after usability study.
