Entrepreneurship workshops

UNICOM+ Workshops —  Spring 2026

Who it’s for
International and domestic bachelor’s/master’s students and early-career researchers at the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, and Turku University of Applied Sciences.

What we do
We help you move from idea to impact. In Work Package 2, we co-create and pilot new services that accelerate entrepreneurship for international students and early-career researchers. Proven models are then integrated into the universities’ regular support.

Entrepreneurship Workshops — a structured path to startup

A four-module series runs monthly (in English) that takes you from first idea to investor-ready concept.

Workshop descriptions

1) Ideation Workshop / Ideointi-työpaja

EN:
Generate and develop new business ideas through no-limit ideation and structured tools such as the NABC model. You will practice shaping, presenting, and refining concepts in groups to build clearer, more actionable ideas for further validation.

FI:
Synnytät ja kehität uusia liikeideoita rajattoman ideoinnin ja NABC-mallin kaltaisten jäsenneltyjen työkalujen avulla. Työpajassa harjoittelet ideoiden muotoilua, esittämistä ja jatkokehittämistä ryhmissä, jotta saat selkeämpiä ja käytännöllisempiä konsepteja jatkovalidointiin.

2) Customer Validation Workshop / Asiakasvalidointi-työpaja

EN:
Validate both the technical feasibility and customer desirability of your idea using Lean Canvas, early prototypes, and structured customer interviews. Learn how to identify the right segments, uncover real problems, test assumptions, and iterate toward true product–market fit based on evidence rather than guesswork.

FI:
Validioi ideasi tekninen toteutettavuus ja asiakaslähtöisyys Lean Canvasin, varhaisten prototyyppien ja systemaattisten asiakashaastattelujen avulla. Opit tunnistamaan oikeat asiakassegmentit, löytämään todelliset ongelmat, testaamaan oletuksiasi ja etenemään kohti todellista product–market fit -osumaa tutkimalla dataa, ei arvaamalla.

3) Commercialization & Business Planning Workshop / Kaupallistamis- ja Liiketoimintasuunnitelma -työpaja

EN:
Develop a clear path to market by refining your value proposition, analyzing competitors, and selecting suitable revenue, pricing, and distribution models. You will also outline key activities, resources, partnerships, and funding options to form a concise, investor-ready business plan foundation.

FI:
Kehität selkeän polun markkinoille hiomalla arvolupauksesi, vertailemalla kilpailijoita ja valitsemalla sopivat ansainta-, hinnoittelu- ja jakelumallit. Lisäksi jäsennät keskeiset toiminnot, resurssit, kumppanuudet ja rahoitusvaihtoehdot luodaksesi tiiviin, sijoittajille uskottavan liiketoimintasuunnitelman perustan.

4) Pitching Workshop / Pitchaus-työpaja

EN:
Learn how to communicate the core of your idea clearly and convincingly by structuring a compelling pitch around the key elements: problem, solution, value, business model, market landscape, team, traction, and ask. You will practice delivering short pitches, refining your message, and designing a simple, effective pitch deck that supports your presentation.

FI:
Opit esittämään ideasi ytimekkäästi ja vakuuttavasti rakentamalla pitchin keskeisten osa-alueiden varaan: ongelma, ratkaisu, arvo, ansaintamalli, markkinalandscape, tiimi, näyttö ja pyyntö. Työpajassa harjoittelet lyhyiden pitchien esittämistä, viestin hiomista sekä selkeän ja toimivan pitch deckin suunnittelua esityksen tueksi.

Registration options — pick your set + workshops

Before you choose: Pick at least two workshops to join. We encourage you to take all workshops within one set. Workshops across sets have the same content—choose the dates that fit your schedule. The workshops build upon one another. You can choose workshops between different sets.

Ennen valintaa: Valitse vähintään kaksi työpajaa. Suosittelemme osallistumaan kaikkiin yhden setin työpajoihin. Eri settien työpajoissa on samat sisällöt – valitse aikatauluusi sopivat päivämäärät. Työpajat rakentuvat aikaisemmin käsitellyn varaan. Voit valita työpajoja useammista seteistä
