New LFF Publication Boosting Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Machinery
LifeFactFuture (LFF) WP3 researchers Mehdi Faraz, Viktoriia Shubina, Tuomas Mäkilä and Jukka Heikkonen from the Department of Computing at the University of Turku have published a new paper on using Temporal Sequence Modeling (TSM) for rare failure prediction in industrial machinery.
The findings support the implementation of proactive maintenance strategies that minimize unplanned downtime, improve operational safety, and reduce overall costs.
The paper was presented at the 9th International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS), 26–28 November 2025 in Turin, Italy. The full conference paper is now available as Open Access.
