How to Reach MIL
By Local Transport. Turku regional transport Föli operates yellow buses, bikes, a ferry, and a water bus. Numerous bus lines serve the University of Turku (UTU), with the stop at “TYKS/Yliopisto.” Bus #1 connects the Turku harbour and airport. Tickets are available from the Föli app and from drivers (contactless payment is also accepted).
By Car. Turku is located 168 km from Helsinki and can be reached by car in 90-100 minutes.
By Bus. Turku is served by long-distance Onnibus and Vainion Liikenne bus lines, with a stop at “Yliopisto” for UTU. The journey time from Helsinki is about 2 hours. Tickets can be purchased through Matkahuolto and operator websites.
By Train. Turku railway station and Kupittaa station (a 10-minute walk to UTU) are on the Finnish Railway network. The journey time from Helsinki is approximately 2 hours, and from Helsinki airport, about 2.5 hours. Tickets can be purchased through the VR website, app, or ticket machines.
By Sea. The Stockholm-Turku ferry service is operated twice daily by Viking Line and Tallink Silja Line. Föli bus #1 serves the Turku harbour and passenger terminals. Tickets can be purchased from the operators’ websites.
By Air. The nearest airports are:
- Turku Airport (TKU): Located 8 km outside the city, it hosts flights by Finnair, SAS, Air Baltic, and Wizz Air. Föli bus #1 serves Turku airport. For more information, visit the Turku Airport website.
- Helsinki Vantaa Airport (HEL): Located 170 km from Turku, it offers various travel options to Turku, including bus services by Vainion Liikenne and train services by VR. The journey takes about 2.5 hours. More information is available on the Helsinki Vantaa Airport website.
