POOL at the Foundation for natural heritage in Hämeenlinna
Radka, her daughter Vilá and the POOL project are exposing at the gallery of the Foundation for natural heritage in the City of Hämeenlinna. Vernal pools can be seen in their spring phase when flooded, with their inhabitants like dysticids and newts. Seasonal phases must be considered to study vernal pools in boreal forests as showed in the videos of Pepe Forsberg! Beavers are important in temporary wetland distribution. Vernal pools and beaver ponds have a role to play in brownification mitigation as Clarisse is showing in her phd work with the Finnish Cultural Foundation and Celine Arzel, Petri Nummi and I in our studies from space to aquatic microcosm. This science-art exhibition for public involvement in wetland conservation and education is supported by the Kone Foundation.
