Congratulations to Dr. Pengcheng Ni on successfully defending his doctoral dissertation, “The Human-centric Knowledge Management System in a Complex Environment”.

The defence took place on 17 June 2026, from 12:15 to 16:15. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Jussi Kantola, with Prof. Wallace Moreira Bessa serving as co-supervisor and Custos. The opponent was Prof. Kongkiti Phusavat from Kasetsart University, Thailand.

Dr. Ni’s research focused on human-centric knowledge management in the European shipbuilding industry, addressing how organisations can better create, share, and use knowledge during digital transformation. The work highlights the importance of tacit knowledge, practical expertise, and structured implementation when developing knowledge management systems for knowledge-intensive industries.

We congratulate Dr. Ni on this important academic milestone and wish him continued success.
