Study in Turku
Turku, located in the region of Southwest Finland, is one of Finland’s biggest cities. Turku offers plenty of historical attractions, contemporary art and incredible nature. It’s also a city of students: every fourth person is either student or professional in higher education institute.
There are two kinds of higher education institutions in Finland:
- Universities – the mission of universities is to conduct scientific research and provide instruction and postgraduate education based on it.
- Universities of applied sciences (UAS) – UAS train professionals in response to labor market needs and conduct research and development which supports instruction and promotes regional development in particular.
The next joint application period for international bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes is 8–22 January 2025 for studies starting in autumn 2025. Doctoral programmes have separate intakes, usually twice per year.
