Daniel Acquah is a Senior Lecturer in Law and an Adjunct Professor of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Turku (UTU). He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Law and Social Justice (SLSJ), University of Liverpool. Before joining UTU, Daniel was a Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at the SLSJ, University of Liverpool. He was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (2020-22), and a Senior Research Associate at the Brussels School of Governance (2018-21). He has master’s degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Glasgow Graduate School of Law), in Law (UTU), and double doctoral degrees in Law (UTU and Vrije Universiteit Brussel). Daniel has collaborated on many Research Council of Finland projects, including the eCoherence project, the TranSip project, the Constitutional Hedges of Intellectual Property project, and the Digital Disruption of Industry project funded by the Strategic Research Council at the Academy of Finland. He is the Principal Investigator for the TACIP project.

 

Ama Opoku Acquah is currently a Project Researcher on the TACIP project. Her primary task is to assist with ongoing research from October 2023 to April 2024. This includes her assistance with ongoing research articles, transcribing and coding research data, This includes her assistance with ongoing research articles, transcribing and coding research data, assisting with the project´s communications and stakeholder management, and assisting with the project´s events management.

Additionally, Ama is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Eastern Finland Law School. Her research focuses on the ownership of state petroleum resources in Sub-Saharan Africa and the protection of citizens’ rights. She aims to determine if oil-producing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa protect their citizens’ fundamental rights while engaging international partners in their oil and gas production. Ama holds a Master’s Degree in International and Comparative Law (MICL) with a specialization in International Economic and Resources Law from the University of Eastern Finland. She also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French & Linguistics from the University of Ghana and a certificate in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Studies. She has six years of professional experience in Human Resource Management and Administrative positions, including Project Management and Client Relations roles.
