New Study Explores Serum-Based Diagnostics for Lyme Neuroborreliosis
A recent study using UHPLC-MS/MS-based untargeted metabolomics has identified potential serum biomarkers for diagnosing Lyme neuroborreliosis (LNB). Researchers analyzed serum samples from LNB patients before and after treatment, identifying 53 promising biomarkers among 1,746 statistically significant molecular features. The findings suggest that serum-based testing could offer a minimally invasive alternative for LNB diagnostics, pending further validation. This innovative approach could enhance both clinical diagnostics and future research of LNB.
