WORKDAY Study

Daily physical activity among hybrid workers

WORKDAY Study

This 3-year project aims to study daily physical activity behavior among hybrid workers. One-week long accelerometer-based physical activity behavior measurements will be conducted to study in more details the physical activity volume and patterns during remote vs. office workdays. In addition, the perceptions to sitting reduction when working remotely will be addressed via interviews. This study will deepen our understanding on how teleworking has modified the patterns of workday’s physical activity. The results can be implemented to promote physical activity through work.

WORKDAY Study is funded by The Finnish Work Environment Fund and The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. The study has a positive ethical review statement from the Ethics Committee for Human Sciences at the University of Turku.
