Instructions for presenters
All presentation rooms are equipped with a (laptop) computer, internet connection, sound system, and data projector. Please use a PowerPoint presentation if possible. The computers in the presentation rooms are equipped with Office 365. If your presentation includes video or audio files, we recommend embedding them into your PowerPoint presentation.
We recommend that you transfer your presentation to the presentation room computer via USB stick or cloud service. A conference assistant will help you transfer your presentation to the room computer. If this is not possible, you may also connect your own laptop to the room system. If you plan to use your own Mac, please bring your own adapter. To avoid technical issues, we suggest transferring the presentation to the room computer or testing the connection with your laptop during the break before your session.
Paper presentations
The time reserved for one paper presentation is 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. Each session will have a chairperson who will introduce the presenters and monitor the timetable.
Workshops
Workshop conveners: As the workshop organizer, you may allocate the time for presentation as best suits your workshop. Nevertheless, we ask you to keep to the order of presentations given in the conference programme so that it would be easier for the conference participants to follow the session. The conference assistants will be available if you need help in monitoring the time.
Workshop participants: Please consult your workshop organizer(s) to find out how much time you will have for your presentation.
Poster presentations
A 45-minute presentation time for posters is scheduled in the Arcanum lobby on Friday, November 8th, from 10:45 to 11:30. We ask poster presenters to prepare a 30-second elevator pitch in advance, briefly highlighting the key points of the poster to all participants at the beginning of the break. After this, participants are welcome to browse the posters and discuss the topics in more detail with the presenter.
The recommended size for posters is A0 (portrait position). Posters will be attached to poster stands in the Arcanum lobby. You can request pins for attachment at the information desk.
General instructions
For consideration of other participants, we kindly ask you not to use any strong fragrances/perfumes during the conference.
