Institutional visit to the leadership

As part of the ACCESS project, Dr Juha Kaskinen, Former Director of the Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC), and Project Researcher Kalpani Pavithra met with university leaders to strengthen institutional links and continued cooperation.
Following the intensive futures training at Kathmandu University on 30 March 2026, Dr Kaskinen and Ms Pavithra met with Prof. Sunil Prasad Lohani. The discussion focused on possible future collaboration and reflected on the positive outcomes and experiences of the ongoing ACCESS project.
The delegation also visited Purbanchal University, where they met with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, visited the university’s central premises, and met with Registrar Prof. Dr Kalyani Mishra Tripathi. The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional connections and exchange perspectives on the ACCESS project’s outcomes.
On 4 April 2026, Dr Kaskinen met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Biju Kumar Thapalia of Purbanchal University in Kathmandu. Their discussion explored possibilities for continuing and further developing the relationship between FFRC and Purbanchal University beyond the current project.
The visits strengthened the links between Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University, and FFRC, supporting continued knowledge exchange and creating opportunities for future collaboration and capacity development.
