KISUVI at the Svenskan i Finland conference in Oulu
The KISUVI project’s research was presented in Oulu on October 3-4, 2024, at the Svenskan i Finland conference. The conference is held every 18 months and focuses on the structure, use, and learning of the Swedish language. This time, the theme was language and culture in transition: Svenskan i Finland – Språk och kultur i förändring. The conference was attended by researchers, teachers, and doctoral researchers of the Swedish language from Finland and abroad, including Sweden and Germany.
KISUVI project researchers Anne-Maj Åberg and Mari Mäkilä gave a presentation at the conference on the writing profies of second languages learners and planning at the beginning of the writing process, entitled Skrivprofil och planering hos andraspråksinlärare i börjna av skrivprocessen (Writing profiles and planning among second language learners at the beginning of the writing process). The presentation material consisted of Finnish university students’ writing processes in Swedish, English and German.

The presentation was attented by a group of experts in the field. The audience asked good questions and made interesting suggestions that will take the research forward.
