KISUVI at the EuroSLA34 conference in Tromsø, Norway
At the end of June, nearly 400 participants gathered for the annual EuroSLA (European Second Language Association) conference.

The first day of the four-day conference was dedicated to doctoral students, while Thursday to Saturday were reserved for oral and poster presentations by other participants. Participants were able to enjoy the midnight sun of northern Norway, albeit in partly rainy weather, but on Friday the sun shone from a blue sky, revealing the snow-capped mountains surrounding the city of Tromsø.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, Maarit Mutta, the person in charge of the KISUVI project, gave a joint presentation combining the results of two fluency projects (the FlowLang group’s FDF2 project and the KISUVI project). There were about fourty enthusiastic listeners in attendance, and the discussion was lively.

Maarit also participated in the presentation of the EKKO project poster on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with Leena Maria Heikkola (Leena Maria Heikkola, Minna Maijala, Päivi Laine & Maarit Mutta: Finnish pre-service language teachers’s perceptions of culture – from cultural humility to social justice) and on Friday in the presentation of the ILFACT project poster with Pauliina Peltonen and Elina Lehtilä (Pauliina Peltonen, Elina Lehtilä, Pekka Lintunen, Maarit Mutta, Saara Naapila, Outi Veivo, Sandra Götz, Loulou Kosmala, Sanna-Kaisa Tanskanen & Claire Wright: Fluency in interaction: Project – L2 Interactional Fluency across Contexts (ILFACT)).
Next year, the conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal. See you there!
