KISUVI retreat in Villa Tammekann (Tartu)
The KISUVI project started its fall term 2024 with a residency on August 5–11 at the Granö Centre of the University of Turku and the University of Tartu. The centre is located in the beautiful Villa Tammekann in Tartu (Estonia) and was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1932.
Of the project personnel, principal investigator Maarit Mutta, researcher Päivi Laine and project researcher Antti Suomela went on the trip. Villa Tammekann and the surrounding city of Tartu – which happened to be the 2024 European Capital of Culture – offered an inspiring environment for research work. The visit bore fruit as the project’s multilingual research material was refined, and solutions began to be found even for the more challenging problems.
We thank Turku University Foundation for the Granö scholarship which made the visit possible!
