KURU at events across South Ostrobothnia

KURU project will take part in events across South Ostrobothnia in late summer and autumn. We want to hear what people think about the current state, changes and future of food culture. At our event stands, visitors can join the discussion, take part in short research activities and consider how good taste can go hand in hand with healthy and sustainably produced food.

Where can you meet KURU?

Peräseinäjoen Markkinat, Saturday 8 August 2026
This traditional market event brings visitors together at the Peräseinäjoki school centre grounds. KURU will be there to hear people’s views on local food culture and its future.

Kauhajoen Ruokamessut, Friday–Sunday 4–6 September 2026
KURU can be found at the SeAMK stand throughout the event. At Friday’s Ruokamessuseminaari, researchers Roosa-Maaria Malila and Saska Tuomasjukka will present preliminary findings related to the project’s themes. The opening address will be given by Professor Anu Hopia, a member of the KURU project team.

Kurikan Sadonkorjuutori, Saturday 26 September 2026
This family-friendly event at Kurikka Market Square brings together local food, natural products, handicrafts and seasonal activities. KURU will invite visitors to share their views on the current state and future of food culture.

Tietoprovinssi: Kestävät ruokaratkaisut, Thursday 22 October 2026
In 2026, Tietoprovinssi will be organised as a series of themed morning events. KURU will take part in the morning focusing on sustainable food solutions, bringing together regional research, development and education.
