Annual Summer Day at Kurjenrahka National Park

This year, our lab’s annual summer day took us to Kurjenrahka National Park for a hike through some of Finland’s most beautiful natural landscapes. It was a great chance to spend time together outside the lab and enjoy the forests, lakes, and mires that make Finnish nature so special. Along the route, we also stopped for a group photo at Kuhankuono, the famous boundary stone where seven municipalities meet: Aura, Masku, Mynämäki, Nousiainen, Pöytyä, Turku, and Rusko.

Halfway through the hike, we stopped for a traditional outdoor lunch with grilled sausages, potato salad, and coleslaw, followed of course by roasted marshmallows for dessert. The day offered a relaxed setting for colleagues to connect and for our international group members to experience a classic piece of Finnish summer culture.
