5 M€ Business Finland grant awarded to us
We were awarded a 5 M€, 5-year research grant by Business Finland Rise-to-Challenge-call as the only one laboratory project. This means we will have open positions available from December 2025! Thank you all!
The OCEANAut project (On-Chip Edge AI Neuromorphic Applications for Security) pioneers the development of next-generation, ultra-efficient neuromorphic computing systems for security and defence applications. The project focuses on memristor-based neuromorphic technology, enabling autonomous decision-making with minimal power consumption—critical for applications where conventional computing is impractical due to energy, bandwidth, or security constraints.
The core of the project is the development of high-performance, scalable memristor devices, which function as artificial synapses in neuromorphic circuits. These circuits will be integrated into smart sensors, autonomous robotic systems, and secure edge computing platforms, providing real-time situational awareness in demanding environments such as underwater surveillance, battlefield robotics, and space exploration. By processing data locally instead of relying on cloud computing, these systems will be highly resilient to cyber threats, including signal jamming and data interception.
