Introduction

Welcome to the 7th Oikos Finland Conference, that is organized jointly by the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The conference will be held from the 15 to the 17 February 2027. 

This year’s theme is Ecosystems past, present and future. With this broad theme we hope to welcome ecologists and evolutionary biologists from various fields together to create a holistic understanding of how the study of ecosystems in various time periods can teach us about life on our planet. This theme also provides broad starting points for discussion even if contributions do not directly address it. In this spirit, we welcome contributions from all areas of ecology and evolutionary biology at all biological scales, including theoretical, empirical, methodological, and applied research.

 

Registration information

OIKOS Finland Conference 2027 will be held onsite in Turku, Finland (Natura building, University of Turku). The conference is an in-person conference with no hybrid or remote attendance.

The registration fees include attendance in the scientific program, coffee servings on the conference days as marked in the program, as well as the Welcome reception on 15 February 2027. Tickets to Conference dinner on 16 February are sold separately, more information here.

Abstract submission and registration for the conference are now open. Last day to send an abstract is 13th of November 2026 and registration closes 31st of January 2027.
