The PI of the project, Professor Heikki Silvennoinen is sociologist of education specialised in adult education. His special fields include selection in education and labour market, the connections between education and social class, the policies, discourses and practices of lifelong learning, the evaluation of education, and education policy.
Professor Ulpukka Isopahkala-Bouret has a focus on equality and justice in education. She is interested in social divisions embedded in curriculum, pedagogy and institutional profiles; power negotiations in different educational contexts; and social change. Her specific research topics include adult education, educational credentialing, professional expertise, life course and agency.
Postdoctoral researcher Heikki Kinnari is specialised in lifelong learning, governmentality in education, politics of education and sociology of education. In 2020 he defended his doctoral thesis titled Lifelong Learning defining the conception of human: Genealogical analysis of the polices of EU, OECD and UNESCO.
Postdoctoral researcher Hanna Laalo has a focus on education policy, sociology of education, and entrepreneurial governmentality in education. Her doctoral thesis published in 2020 was about entrepreneurial rationality in education policy language and in the educational practices of higher education.
