Webinar program

14:00-14:30 Presentations
14:30-15:30 Q&A and discussion

Presenters:

Riccardo Fassone, University of Torino

In my presentation, I will discuss the implications and ramifications of developing a historiographical account of the production of video games in Italy. Starting from the collection Il videogioco in Italia (ed. Marco Benoit Carbone, Riccardo Fassone, Mimesis, Milano, 2020). I will focus specifically on the methodological tools that can be employed to tell local video game histories.

Maria B. Garda, University of Turku

For the purpose of our webinar, I would like to briefly discuss the New Media Behind the Iron Curtain book (Piotr Sitarski, Maria B. Garda and Krzysztof Jajko, Jagiellonian University Press Lodz-Krakow, 2020) and reflect on the methodological, as well as practical challenges of researching local media histories, a context often important to explore while investigating game history itself.
