Pääskysen laulu ja hiljaiset surut on kirja äideistä ja tyttäristä, eletystä elämästä, sairauksista ja kuolemasta, muistoista ja muistamisesta yli sadan vuoden ajalta. Naisten historiaan sekä kirjoittamisen kulttuurihistoriaan erikoistunut yliopistonlehtori, dosentti Maarit Leskelä-Kärjen uutuuskirja kertoo historian unohtaman Minna Krohnin, Aino Kallaksen ja Aune Krohnin äidin, tarinan. Julkaisutilaisuudessa teoksesta keskustelevat Leskelä-Kärki sekä dosentti Kirsi Tuohela.

ABOAGORA: Mercury, the Winged Messenger
23–25 September 2026

The theme for 2026 is Mercury, the Winged Messenger, and the main event will be held at the Sibelius Museum on September 23–25. The event examines, among other things, winged words and metaphors in science, art and society, as well as their effects on communication and societal discussion. The effects of climate change on the animal world, such as the migration routes of birds, are also discussed.

Seminaarissa pohditaan, mitä autoetnografia ja autoetnografinen tutkimusote voivat tarjota humanistisissa tieteissä. Puhujina kuullaan autoetnografiaa tutkimuksessaan hyödyntäneitä tutkijoita: mukana ovat Jaana Kouri, Olli Löytty, Hanne Metsähinen, Astrid Joutseno, Elina Hytönen-Ng ja Kaiju Harinen. Tapahtuma painottuu kulttuurien-, kirjallisuuden- ja kirjoittamisen tutkimukseen. Aikaa varataan runsaasti myös yhteiselle keskustelulle.
