Strengthening global partnership in emerging energy collaboration with South Korea

Prof. Ji-Youn Seo, a long-standing research collaborator in flexible electronics and emerging energy technologies, hosted Jovana Milic’s visit to South Korea in February 2026. The visit included a number of significant meetings.

At the Ajou University in Suwon, Prof. Milic participated in a research seminar that let to engaging and productive discussions. Prof. Milic pleased to reconnect with Prof. Michael Graetzel, a mentor and a long-time research collaborator. Together, they visited Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Research Institute (KEPRI) in Daejeon, met with collaborators and leadership, delivered a seminar, and discussed challenges ahead, such as stabilising perovskite solar cells for outdoor operation.

The journey concluded in the Pusan at Pusan National University (PNU) during its 80th anniversary celebrations—an inspiring setting for forward-looking discussions, leaving a strong impression of the university’s commitment to research, education, sustainability, and innovation.

These research visits were made by opportunities offered through the Leading House Asia-Pacific activities of the University of Zurich and by the warm hospitality of Prof. Seo and her team at the Pusan National University. We are looking forward to continued interactions and a deepening collaboration with them.
